Dwarf Acrocona Spruce

Named Collector’s Conifer of the Year in 2008, this small, slow-growing Norway Spruce, a witch’s broom from ‘Acrocona’, produces loads of bright red cones on many short shoots in spring. The tiny cones brown as they age, but continue to decorate the irregular, dwarf variety year-round. Globose when young, the small spruce develops an upright broad shape with maturity. It is extremely hardy and grows well in full sun or part shade. From the former East Germany.

Weeping White Pine

Weeping white pine looks like a waterfall of beautiful blue-green needles. It’s especially effective grown over a sturdy arbor or other structure to create a curtain effect. Cylindrical brown cones dot the soft needles. A widely adaptable tree, native to many areas of North America.

Gold Strike Juniper

The vivid yellow foliage of this spreading juniper creates a bright, cheery spot in the garden throughout the year. In spring, brilliant new growth freshens up the chartreuse interior foliage and continues the sparkling display through fall, when the look gradually softens with coral tones. The low, somewhat mounded, seedling selection from ‘Mother Lode’ performs best grown in moist, well-drained soil and protected from scorching sun.

Weeping Serbian Spruce

This bicolor tree has an open form in youth, with branches gracefully recurvate and strictly weeping branchlets. Time and maturity increase this plant’s beauty.

Rainbow’s End Spruce

Whoever believes conifers lack seasonal color interest has never seen ‘Rainbow’s End’. Comparable to Picea glauca ‘Conica’ except for color. In spring, the new growth is light green, nothing out of the ordinary. In mid-summer, the second flush is nothing but extraordinary. Bright, creamy-yellow new growth contrasts dramatically against the dark-green older foliage. Mutation found at Iseli Nursery in 1978.
