Rhododendron Bud Preparing for Winter

I am submitting a macro photo of this rhododendrom bud, as winter was approaching. With our uncharacteristic warm fall, I was out raking leaves on a November day. As I was packing it in for the day, I noticed the tiny buds on our new rhododendron. It appeared almost perfect to me so I grabbed the camera. Once I looked at the detail, I was more amazed at the plant. It was quite stunning for something so simple. Anyhow, I though it was worthy of a submission and possible entry into the 2013 calendar.
The picture was taken in Burnsville, MN. in late November.
