A neighbor has given us some Parker pears from his tree. They are totally green, the seeds are white and the flesh is hard. Will this fruit ripen after being picked, and how can I tell when it is? Thank you.

Winter burn? What is it and can the evergreen survive? Last summer, we planted a Dwarf spruce, now this winter its is showing browning on the south, southeast side of plant. Is this winter burn and can we do anything to correct it?
Please help! My husband and I live on about an acre of land. It is surrounded on three sides (double row)with scotch pine. They are close together and provide a fabulous wind block. The problem is one (only one at this time) is wilted,brown, and the sap is thick and white at the base. Any help you can give us will be greatly appreciated! We have several dwarf balsams about 8yrs old, have done well until this year but turning brown in large patches. very hot summer watered every night by irrigation. Why the brown?
I bought 3 Table Mountain Ice Plants from Pahl’s back around May 12th. I kept them outside on my screened/covered porch for the first 2 weeks and planted Memorial weekend. The plants were still green and looking quite healthy when I planted them. I have been watering them regularly and fertilized as instructed upon my purchase. The plants continue to get smaller, brown, and are dying. What can I do to save them? These are the only plants I am encountering problems with. Please help!
