How can you revive shrub roses?
We purchased some shrub roses and did not have very good luck with them last year. There were more sticks than leaves or flowers. Do you have any tips on how to get them to come back strong this year? Would it be beneficial to cut them all the way down and start again?

Can a dying Yucca plant be salvaged?
I have two yucca plants that look really “yucky”. This is the fourth year that I have had them and they have become so big. The leaves (or stems) have brownish or rust colored areas on them and some are a yellowish green and brown. Some of the leaves pull off easily and I have removed them but the other ones don’t pull off easily. I’m wondering if I can cut this way back or how I remove all the bad leaves, which is most of them. They have become so long that they are covering up some of my other plants. Am I doing something wrong that the leaves are looking like this? Last year they both produced their first flower. What do I do with the big, thick stalk that is left? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’m about to pull them up out of the ground! Thanks!
Why is deadheading important?
Am I supposed to deadhead Salvia, Echinacea, Rudbeckia, and Bee Balm? Is there a rule of thumb for deadheading flowering perennials?
When will Graziella Maiden Grass start growing again?
We hired Pahl’s Landscaping to design and plant new shrubs and perennials in the front and sides of our house. Pretty much all have survived the winter, but I’m wondering if the Graziella Maiden Miscanthus Grasses are really slow to emerge. They all (5 plants) still have a straw color. There is no green or new growth emerging. When should I see new green growth? We cut them back to about 8 inches earlier this spring. Thanks.
What to grow in a heavy shaded area?
ARE THERE ANY GROUND COVER PLANTS THAT WOULD THRIVE IN A HEAVY SHADED AREA (UNDER PINE TREES, FOR EXAMPLE)?
How can you get rid of “Lily of the Valley”?
I’m trying to “kill off” my “lilies of the valley” to start a vegetable garden, but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions? Thank you very much!
