News from the Farmer

So you can grow it, but can you get it out of the field? That is one of the biggest questions we ask ourselves. Planting season is a long road and a lot of hard work, and of course you will have nothing to pick unless you plant it! But once planting season has drawn to a close, and harvesting is in full swing, things tend to get very interesting very quickly around the farm! All of our day is spent harvesting, washing and packing our produce and delivering it to various customers as well as our shareholders. The CSA field has not looked better, bursting at the seams with our many varieties of produce. You will see some of the old favorites this week such as sweet corn and cabbage, along with something new…. pickling cucumbers and dill will be highlighting this week’s box. The dill is beautiful and is at its peak of freshness with that great dill aroma and that wonderful, bright flowering top that makes the pickling process possible. The cucumbers are the perfect size for pickling and are as fresh as you can get!

As always have a wonderful share week and remember to always eat fresh!

Best regards from the field,
