What a week so far! Hot and humid, yet again, but we are keeping up! I spent some time early this afternoon starting irrigators. The peppers, in particular, need the attention. Consistent moisture after picking is essential to push the plants to produce more as we start coming into the latter part of the season.
Beets make their way in to the share box this week, and what a nice crop we had! Touchstone Gold, and Red Ace are the two varieties that are on deck. I always prefer to harvest beets when it’s nice and dry, due to the fact that they are root crops, and can be quite muddy after a rain fall.
Funny to think that over the past few years we would have seen beets a couple of times by now, but the time was right for harvesting and I sure hope you all enjoy them!
Have a wonderful share week!
