News from the Farmer

Today marks the first day of harvesting our homegrown bell peppers, yet another milestone for the year. We have picked our first planting of cucumbers 3 times now and the yield has been excellent! We are at somewhat of a stand still with our cabbage crop currently, mostly due to the hot weather which makes a nice medium head of cabbage swell and crack in a matter of days. Warm nights have our sweet corn crop progressing nicely and it is making its first debut in this week’s share box. By the first week in August we will be at full speed ahead, harvesting a multitude of crops everyday, until the first frost shuts us down. There is lots to look forward to in the coming weeks as all of our fine homegrown vegetables will be coming into season.  We will be picking daily and the fresh produce will make it to your table shortly there after! As always, have a wonderful share week.

Until next week,
Cole Moldenhauer
