The Original Campfire Tin Foil Dinner

by | Aug 10, 2020 | CSA Member Updates, Mom's Corner Recipes

Even the youngest members of the family can have a part in preparing these basic foil dinners. Set up everything on the counter or table, assembly-line style. Have the foil cut to size. Each person in the family is responsible for putting a certain item in the packet. Mom or Dad can finish it up with the seasoning and folding up.
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 20 minutes
Servings: 4
Suggestion: You may want to partially cook the potatoes in the microwave, just until slightly softened.
Ingredients:
1 pound Ground beef
Several “Little B” red potatoes, evenly cut into bite-size pieces (or 1 large Potato, cut into round medallions)
2-3 Carrots
1 Onion
Salt, pepper, garlic powder, butter to taste
Directions:
1. Cut the potato into bite-size pieces and slice onions and carrots into long, thin strips.
2. Divide the ground beef into four portions and place on four pieces of tin foil. Top with potatoes, onions, carrots, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and butter.
3. Bring up the sides of the tin foil to create a packet.
4. Cook for 10 minutes on each side, until the meat is cooked to your desired level.
