New Start

I want to introduce our loyal followers to the new edition of the Pahl Family.  Charlotte Elizabeth Briones turned 4 weeks old yesterday as I write this.  She is one of God’s miracles and blessings that make this world so special and precious.   Her little hands and feet wiggle around as she constantly stretches for the moon with a slight yawn.  We are very fortunate and blessed to have her come into our lives at such a great time of year!

Spring is like a new beginning. Each year, we put seed in the ground, nurture it, water it, and sing to it in hopes that it will grow up to be a fine, mature plant. This spring looks like a slow start, but things can turn in a hurry. Ground temperatures have to be warm enough for the seed to germinate and the soil conditions must be worked to the right conditions in order to give the plant a chance.  Make sure you do not work your soil when it is wet.  Every spring I preach the same thing but I cannot stress enough how important it is to have the right soil conditions.  Fertilizer, water and singing can only fix so many things; there is nothing more important to a plant except for the soil structure.  Microbial activity is limited when the soil is compacted, thus the root structure of the plant never establishes itself into a viable growing machine.

Cheers to a new season!  Cheers to Charlotte, the next generation!
