Fall is in the air. When you start picking squash and pumpkins you know the weather will be turning cooler soon. In the field these days we are busy harvesting many fall items along with peppers and all of our specialty peppers. Fall is my most favorite time of year. The cooler temperatures make it easier for the crew harvesting, but the shorter days make it a time cruncher on getting everything out of the field.
Just in case you didn’t know… our Fall Festival on October 4th and 5th will kick off one of the best months of the year for kids young and old. The Bouncy Pumpkin is a big hit for kids 45 inches in height or shorter. The young ones can wear off some energy bouncing to their hearts content. But I must say, the Corn Pit is giving the Pumpkin a run for its money. We fill a straw bale pit with corn to wiggle your feet in. Even the parents can’t resist taking off their shoes. It is a time when our lost and found seems to accumulate quite a few stray socks. Also don’t forget to hike through our Straw Maze. With its twists, turns, and dead ends, we challenge the youngsters to escape its grasp. All of these activities will continue throughout the whole month. So stop back often and enjoy yourself.
