Pahl’s Market Featured Employee: Cole Moldenhauer

Cole Moldenhauer
Years of Service at Pahl’s Market:
4 years (I started when I was 15 years old)

Job Responsibilities:
I have been working at Pahl Farms doing everything from planting in the garden center as well as the field to repairing equipment. I guess you could say I am a jack of all trades.  I hope to be a future farmer.

Love of the Job: I love watching all of our hard work and commitment pay off when fresh high-quality vegetables come into season.  This is rewarding in and of itself.

Family:
• My father’s name is Dan and my mother’s name is Lynne
• I have three sisters: Kearston, Brooke, and Morgan
• I have a black and white Cockapoo named Dutch

Favorite Month of the Year: My favorite month of the year is July because the vegetables are planted and it is time to care for them and watch them grow.

Hobbies: My favorite outdoor activity is growing vegetables especially when the weather cooperates. I also enjoy golfing and playing the guitar.

The farthest you have traveled from home: I traveled to Florida in 2008.  I will never forget how it felt when I stepped off the plane because the air was so clean.  The Florida climate was a breath of fresh air.

Three things on your “Bucket List”:
• See the Gettysburg Battlefield
• Visit Germany
• Make the most out of everything I have now and in the future

What do you miss most about being a kid: I am not old enough yet.  I am still a kid.

First thing you bought with your own money: My 1952 Farmall H Tractor.

If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do: I would buy a farm somewhere peaceful, build a nice shop and collect more and more and more tractors. My philosophy is, “Spend it because you can’t take it with you.”

Favorite Movie:  Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Favorite Song: Tom Petty’s “Mary Jane’s Last Dance”

Hardest thing I’ve ever done:  I don’t like to say anything was the hardest thing I have ever done.  I like to take each challenge as it comes and do my best to conquer it.  Getting through challenging things with a steadfast commitment makes us stronger.

    Cole,

Four years have gone by fast! Pahl’s Market was a great opportunity to put your energy and passion of farming to work and you have proved that since your first days at Pahl’s. Like I told you, ” Farming is in your blood”–Grandpa and I are proud and I am blessed to have a son like you!
