The Pea Pick

June 21, 2023 @ 8:00 am - July 2, 2023 @ 9:00 pm

Pea Picking Harvest Event

Field Coordinates: 44.702068 N, 93.01946 W

A cross between snow peas and English peas, sugar snaps have a pod that contains small peas. The entire pea is edible, including the pod. The variety you will be picking is called Sugar Ann which provides a crisp, sweet, flavorful tasty pod.
While we plan to have the field open to members thru 7/2 we cannot guarantee the viability of the peas if the weather doesn’t cooperate.

To freeze: Spread the blanched sugar snap pea pods in a single layer on a baking sheet. Freeze for 1 to 2 hours (until completely frozen through). Transfer the frozen sugar snap peas to freezer bags or containers and label with the date. Frozen sugar snap peas will keep for about 8 months.

The Pea Pick is off 170th Street next to Highway 52. There is a white White and Green shed with a Pahl Farms semi trailer out front. Please be sure to stay off the neighboring lawns. Have fun, and don’t be afraid to walk down the field to the other end of the peas. Exercise is great!

To ensure your safety and to protect our developing crops, we ask that you limit your visit to just the pea patch. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
