I have a couple of purple echinacea plants we would like to relocate. Is it too late to transplant yet??? When is the best time for transplanting?

Can Hosta leaves be saved from night time pests?
My hostas all full of little holes. I’ve tried spraying them for bugs, but nothing seems to work. Some varieties are affected more than others. Thanks for any help you can offer.
Seek advice from Pahl’s for your landscaping needs!
We have recently moved into a 4-yr old home in Farmington. Some of the trees and shrubs are dead and need replacement. Also, the previous owner did not seem to have a plan when planting shrubs and trees. We would like to look at what would be a good plan for our yard. We are interested in doing most of the work ourselves, but we would like expert advice on what is the best thing to do for our yard (as well as to tell us what we currently have in our yard). Do you have anyone at the nursery that does this? Or do you have a recommendation?
What’s the better option, Rock or Mulch?
We just built a new house in Lakeville, my husband and I have created a primilary landscaping plan for the front of our house. Is it best to use rock or mulch for filler around the plants?
Backyard tree suggestions
We have a back yard that has a lot of clay and is on a hill. Our landscaper has planted 4 evergreens (2 colorado blue spruce and 2 Black Hills Spruce) that have died. The clay holds the water, so we are sure they have drowned. The trees were sitting in water when they were dug up for replacement. We would love to have something (evergreens, trees, etc) but we are gun shy. Any suggestions?
Shrubs & Perennials suggestions
I have an area in the lower level (walk out basement) that I need to put a shrub and some perennials, but it seems to always stay real wet there, since everything drains from the front yard – can you recommend some shrubs and/or perennials that would do well in really wet soil? I’ve transplanted a few things, but never survived.

What to plant around your Fat Albert Spruce?
I am getting ready to plant a dwarf fat albert spruce. For landscaping purposes, what could I plant around it for color and variety?
Caring for your Fat Albert Blue Spruce
I purchased a beautiful, but very expenive 8’ Fat Elbert evergreen on Sat. I read planting directions on Sat. night, but somehow overlooked that it pointed out, not to remove the wire cage. I measured twice for my hole diam, and depth. Got it spot on, recruited 6 neighbors to help roll the beast out of my truck into the hole with only the bulap, and twine securing it. Everything stayed in tact, but the tree ball root got distorted, and compressed about 4” into the hole. ** I am aware of the fact that evergreens can’t be planted to deep. ( I will just pull back the soil ), but am concerned with the future health of the tree, as I have way to much time, and money into this project already. What are the chances of it surviving? What steps can I take to help it grow healthy? My soil type is somewhat clay underneath the tree. I had about a 50” diam. Hole dug for the tree, with at least 6-10” around the diam. of the tree when it was dropped into the hole, in which I have compacted loamy type soil around with a little clay. Please advise, Frustrated and Bummed out in Apple Valley!!
Always seek a professional before building a retaining wall
We just bought our first home. Now that the snow has melted, we are just finding out what our yard has in store for us. We have a real sponge of a yard in one corner of the house where the neighbors tell us they heard there is an underground river. Is there any kind of bushes we can plant that will help absorb some of the water? We are going to build a retaining wall in that area and some nice bushes with that purpose would be great.
Can a new tree be planted next to a tree stump?
Can one plant a flowering crab or a Magnolia tree in proximity to a tree stump? I lost a tree about two or three years ago due to strong winds during a thunderstorm. I would like to plant an ornamental tree close to the tree stump, if possible.
Are ants harmful to your plants?
In the landscaping in front of our house we have lots of ants in our dirt. When I transplanted a hosta there was a ton of ants in the dirt. Is this harmful to my shrubs? How can I get rid of them?
