Harvest Days

by | Aug 29, 2013 | Market News

September has arrived and all the kids have headed back to school.  Those of you with children are settling back into a routine once again. Autumn is a refreshing time of year.  The days are cooler and hopefully sunny.  The trees change to beautiful colors.  Our market explodes with every possible color of mum you can think of.  The squash crop begins to be harvested.  Change is in the air.

We like to celebrate this change with Harvest Days.  This year it will be on Saturday, September 21st, and Sunday, September 22nd during our regular store hours.  Our beautiful blooming mums and fall plants will be on sale.  It is a great weekend to pick up some color for your pots.  This year we are excited to have Dan Newbauer, our local honey supplier, do a demonstration.  He will be showing us the process of how he extracts honey.  Dan will be extracting honey on Saturday at 11 AM and on Sunday at 1 PM.  It surely will be an interesting and informative demonstration.  And of course, we will have fresh, local honey on hand for you to sample and purchase.

There will also be a cooking demonstration and sampling, on Saturday at 1 PM and on Sunday at 11:30 AM.  Come and learn how to prepare our delicious fall squash in a new and exciting way.  We will have the recipes printed out for you so that you can stop in the market and pick up everything you need to dazzle your family’s taste buds.

Wait!  There is more!  On Saturday morning at 9:30 AM we will have a fall lawn and garden seminar. Learn how to care for your landscape and turf this fall so that next year you are the talk of the neighborhood.  We can’t forget our fairy garden enthusiasts.  On Sunday afternoon at 3 PM, our fairy godmother, Jackie Overom, will give you ideas for your fairy gardens as the seasons change.  Jackie’s knowledge and imagination is always an amazing treat.

Top all of that off with salsa sampling, apple tasting, and other good eats.  Browse the market and see our new Autumn décor and Halloween decorations.  Bring the stunning colors of fall into your home with a tasteful accent piece.  We look forward to seeing you at our Harvest Days!

We’re contemplating putting in lots of prairie flowers and grasses in front of our church. Would you possibly like to sponsor a planting next Spring…or start with a phase one this Fall? We’d definitely allow a “Sponsored by Pahl’s Market | Apple Valley.”

If interested, please call the office, and Bill Bradley and I will stop by. 651-423-4402

      Hi Father Jarvis,

Thanks for thinking of Pahl’s Market for your planting needs. Jane Pahl handles the donation requests and I have forwarded your inquiries to her.
