Last month we said goodbye to our dear friend Chex. You may have seen him around the market on your visits here. He was quick to greet our customers, meeting old friends and making new ones. He loved our popcorn and would look for handouts and dropped kernels every chance he got. On warm days he would take a dip in our large fountains to the giggles of the children watching. He lived to run the fields beside Gary on his tractor. Forget trying to keep him clean, he loved a belly of mud!
Office work bored Chex, but he loved everything about being outdoors! His happy place was the fields, just like his Gary, but being stuck at the market wasn’t so bad either. He made the most of it with swims in the fountains, rolls in the snow, and play time in the rain.
Bottom of the stairs, head resting on a rock pillow was a favorite place of his to rest. He did, however, give several other places a try!
Chex was such a good sport, always willing to help out whenever needed! No matter the season or occasion, Chex made a great model!
We have many fond memories through the years to smile on. Chex truly was a one in a million dog. We love you & will miss you Chex!
“You no longer greet us as we walk through the door.
You’re not there to make us smile, to make us laugh anymore.
Life seems quiet without you, you were far more than a pet.
You were a family member, a friend, a loving soul we will never forget.
It will take time to heal, for the silence to go away.
We still listen for you and miss you every day,
You were such a great companion, constant, loyal and true.
Our hearts will always wear the paw prints left by you.”
So sad and sorry to hear about Chex’s passing.
It’s so hard to say good bye to an old friend.
We will miss him!
