Just in case you didn’t know… our Fall Festival on October 4th and 5th will kick off one of the best months of the year for kids young and old. The Bouncy Pumpkin is a big hit for kids 45 inches in height or shorter. The young ones can wear off some energy bouncing to their hearts content. But I must say, the Corn Pit is giving the Pumpkin a run for its money. We fill a straw bale pit with corn to wiggle your feet in. Even the parents can’t resist taking off their shoes. It is a time when our lost and found seems to accumulate quite a few stray socks. Also don’t forget to hike through our Straw Maze. With its twists, turns, and dead ends, we challenge the youngsters to escape its grasp. All of these activities will continue throughout the whole month. So stop back often and enjoy yourself.
We have hundreds of pumpkins spread out in our tree and shrub lot and in our main greenhouse. What better way to choose a pumpkin. We have the traditional orange pumpkin and many specialty pumpkins as well. They are unique and fun to decorate with. Don’t forget to pick up some corn shocks too! We also have straw bales, Indian corn both large and small, gourds, rye bundles, and mini pumpkins. The mums are bursting with a multitude of colors. You will find everything you need to decorate for the harvest season. If you want to make it spooky, we can help you out there as well.
We had an awesome corn season and the squash crop is looking fantastic as well. We carry many varieties for you to choose from. Besides the ones you are familiar with, Acorn, Buttercup, Butternut, we also have Hubbard, Delicata, Carnival, Spaghetti, and Sweet Dumpling. Be daring! Try something you have never tasted before!
Zestars started our apple season and they are so tasty. The other Minnesota grown apples we have now are SweeTango, Honeycrisp, Haralson, and McIntosh. There are so many ways to prepare these delicious apples. Or you can just eat them while they are fresh and crispy.
