What is the most rewarding part of your job? For me, it’s watching something grow from seed to a finished product.
Tell us about your family… My beautiful bride of 25 years, Jane and I have two children. Daughter Jamie 22, is entering her 1st year of law school at the college of St. Thomas and Jack 20, is a junior at the U of M.
What story does your family always tell about you? Probably the time a Rosemount city worker was blocking the driveway to get into the field. I hooked up the tractor and pulled him out of the way. The city worker was still in the truck.
What is your favorite time of day/day of the week/ month of the year? Why? Fall is my favorite time of year. 5:00 AM – 6:45 AM is my favorite time of the day – I love doing tractor work when no one can get a hold of me.
What is your favorite indoor/outdoor activity? (E.g. hobbies, talents, crafts etc.) Hockey, Golf, Hunting pheasant and grouse
What is the farthest you have been away from home? Tell us the most unique experience from that trip?
Cruising around the southern tip of New Zealand with 35 – 40 foot swells, the water was splashing up 14 floors on the cruise ship.
What are three things on your “Bucket List”?
- Travel to Italy
- Travel to Alaska
- Someday do a fly in fishing trip, if I could ever talk my wife into that one
What do you miss most about being a kid? Having no responsibility, eating warm cookies or brownies that have just come out of the oven.
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be? Fly an airplane or helicopter
What was the first thing you bought with your own money? Schwinn Bicycle
If you could choose anyone, who would you pick to be your mentor? Why? Larry Winum, Jane’s Father, he has lived life how he wanted to live it, not letting life lead him. Most honorable man, easy going and well respected.
If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do? Farm till it’s all gone.
Which celebrity do you get mistaken for? None, I am not handsome enough.
What is your all-time favorite movie? 3 Days of Condor
What song do you play the most often? Brown Eyed Girl – Van Morrison
What is the hardest thing you have ever done? Helping put a woman on a stretcher after an accident, she passed away an hour later.
