Pumpkin Pahlooza

It’s here! It’s here!  The Great Bouncy Pumpkin is back!  October may be our kid friendliest month of the year at Pahl’s Market.  We have activities going on all month long.  It all kicks off with our Fall Festival on Saturday, October 5th and Sunday, October 6th.  The Bouncy Pumpkin will officially be up and ready for action.  And many of our taller young ones will be happy, this year we raised the height restriction to 45 inches!  Last year was the first time we had a Corn Pit.  What a blast that was.  Good news, it is back again this year.  Young and old loved to wiggle their feet in the corn.  Our Straw Maze this year is bigger and better.  Try not to get lost while you search for the hidden pumpkins.  And last but not least, the Petting Zoo makes its annual return.  Stretch your hand out and they will nibble that tasty corn off your palm.

Our Pumpkin Patch next to King Field off of Dodd Road will be open on Fridays from 3PM-dusk, on Saturday from 10AM-6PM and Sunday from 10AM-5PM.  It is fun to walk in the field and pick out that perfect pumpkin.  Or you can come to the market.  We pick thousands of pumpkins of all sizes.  We spread them out in our greenhouse and in the tree and shrub lot for your viewing pleasure.  Besides the traditional orange pumpkin, we have specialty pumpkins as well.  Unique pumpkins are a lot of fun to decorate with.

Speaking of decorating, we also carry corn shocks, straw bales, large and small Indian corn, gourds, mini pumpkins, broomstick corn, and rye bundles.  You will find everything you need to decorate for Autumn in one stop.

All of the varieties of squash that we plant will be in the market.  If you haven’t tried a Sweet Dumpling or Delicata you are missing out on a tasty treat.  Maybe you want to try a Spaghetti squash.  Bake it, shred it, and toss it with a marinara sauce and it tastes very much like a pasta.

Minnesota Grown apples are something to look forward to in the fall.  Each year we get in Regents, Cortlands, Haralsons, Honeycrisp, and Zestars.  Depending on the crop, we hope to get other varieties as well.  For a mouth watering treat be sure and pick up a caramel apple too.

Round out your visit with a box of dry firewood and you have all the fixings for a perfect fall day… and night.  Something For Every Season? Absolutely!
