I want to buy more boxwood, but will they survive the brutal Minnesota winters?

Dear Dee,

Two years ago I purchased a boxwood from a “large national chain nursery.” I do not know what variety it is, but is seems to be doing well. I would like to plant another 5 to create a hedgerow, but I’m not sure if they will survive Minnesota winters or have I just been lucky that the past 2 have been mild? Thank you.

Cari

Dear Cari,

The Boxwood certainly is Minnesota hardy and we carry 2 varieties, the Green Mountain and the Green Velvet. Go ahead and plant either one of them.

Dee
