It might not feel like it outside, but things are heating up here at Pahl’s Market! New spring décor is arriving daily, our seeds for the 2017 season are in and we are stocked with birdseed, firewood and straw bales. It won’t be much longer until we fire up the greenhouses and start planting! We are open year round so please stop in and visit Monday – Friday between 9am and 5pm. Spring hours start April 1st.
We are excited about the first of our 2017 workshops being less than 2 weeks away! Get all the dirt about growing from seed by joining us for our 5th annual Plant a Seed workshop on Saturday, February 18th. Seminars will be at 10am and 11am.
The 10am seminar is a free workshop geared towards children. We talk about the journey that a seed takes from germination to maturity. The kids will plant a green bean seed and take it home with them to watch it grow.
The 11am seminar, geared more towards adults, will discuss starting seeds for Spring. Learn when to start specific plant seeds, what kind of growing medium to use, light and watering needs, and how to prepare your tender plants to make their transition to the great outdoors. Each attendee will receive one free tomato or green pepper seed to plant. Additional seeds can be purchased for $2 each. We will keep your plantings and germinate them in the warmth of our greenhouse. You are also welcome to take them home with you if you prefer. Germinated seeds will be available to pick up on Saturday, April 22nd during our Spring Open House. It’s almost time to GET YOUR HANDS DIRTY at our most popular event, Moss Basket Days, March 11th, 14th & 18th. We are looking forward to seeing many returning friends and making some new ones! Regardless of how green your thumb is, our friendly and knowledgeable staff is available to assist you through the entire process and we will “plant sit” your unique basket until early May. No need to bring anything but your creativity and whether your beautiful creation will be in the sun or shade. Choose from hundreds of different plant varieties and colors.
