With September we have the arrival of Autumn. The warm summer days yield to cooler fall temperatures. The trees start changing to vibrant colors and families settle back into a school year routine once again. We see and feel the changes all around us. Our greenhouses are filled with mums waiting to burst forth in every color imaginable. From the fields, we are treated to the squash crop reaching maturity. It is a time to celebrate the changing season.
What better way to celebrate than with Pahl’s Harvest Days. This year Harvest Days will be on Saturday, September 20th, and Sunday, September 21st from 9am-5pm both days. All of our blooming mums and beautiful fall plants will be on sale. It is the perfect time to pick up some fresh color for your outdoor pots. Shop the market building and see our new autumn decor and Halloween decorations. Bring the bold colors of fall into your home with a tasteful accent piece. Now is the time to plant your spring bulbs for next year’s enjoyment. We will have many varieties of Tulips to choose from along with Narcissus, Hyacinth, Crocus and Allium.
We are planning some informative seminars for you as well. On Saturday morning at 9:30 AM there will be a fall lawn and garden seminar. Let us help you learn how to care for your landscape and turf this fall to make it strong for the long winter months. Then on Sunday afternoon at 1 PM, Jackie, our TV personality and fairy godmother, will fill your minds with imagination and ideas on the latest fairy gardening tips and fads.
If you have been thinking about joining our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program next year and have questions, stop by both days and hear from Cole on how our flagship year is going and what to expect next year. Cole will lead an informative discussion on Saturday at 11 AM and on Sunday at 11:30 AM. You will hear about all of the interesting produce we grew this year and what may be in store for next year. We have thoroughly enjoyed how 2014 is progressing and would love for you to join us in the 2015 season.
