Employee Name: Chex
Number of years of service at Pahl’s: 11 years
Briefly describe your job duties at Pahl’s:
Greet customers, keep the greenhouses clear of critters, clean popcorn off the market floor, and maintain staff morale.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Bringing a smile to the faces of humans, oh and belly rubs in the middle of the market.
Tell us about your family.
There is Gary, I would go anywhere with him and do anything for him. And Jane, she loves me too, I just know it. I grew up with two siblings, Jamie & Jack, they turned out pretty good. Timber, my nephew, is the new addition to our family (Jack’s new pup) he is going to need my mentoring.
What is your favorite time of day? Why?
Early mornings because I know Gary & I are headed to work where all my friends are.
What is your favorite indoor/outdoor activity?
Searching for bunnies and squirrels, taking a swim in the large fountains, and making snow angels.
What is the farthest you have been away from home?
I got to go on a road trip in a semi with Gary, Jack and Grandpa Larry to Chicago!
What are three things on your “Bucket List” ?
1. Eat everyones lunch out of the breakroom, oh wait I do that.
2. Roll around on every dead animal I can find and get really stinky, oh wait I do that.
3. Sleep in bed with Gary & Jane, still haven’t done that!

Being picked up and cuddled by almost everyone.
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
Jump high in the air and catch a Frisbee. That looks like so much fun.
If you could choose anyone, who would you pick to be your mentor? Why?
Balto, he was the lead dog on the final sled that carried the diphtheria serum to Nome.
If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?
Help all the rescue centers become better temporary homes.
Which celebrity do you get mistaken for?
Buddy from the movie Air Bud
What is your all-time favorite movie?
Hooch & Turner
What song do you play the most often?
Bad to the Bone & Who Let the Dogs Out
What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever done?
Have you heard of this thing they call neutering?
love him! I have a young one that needs a mentor like him.
Why have I never met your employee of the month, Chex? He sounds like a doll and I laughed out loud reading his profile. May I share it on FB? EVERY dog owner can relate to Chex and his antics. Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful 4-legged employee with the public. I may have to drop off some Milk-bones for him.
Dropping off milk bones would earn you a fast and loyal friend forever, he might even show you some of his tricks! Not sure why you haven’t had a chance to meet him, in his younger days he spent a lot of time out in the field but more recently he mostly stays around the market. Feel free to share the article and thanks for your comment!
