Is it the right time now to plant daffodil bulbs?

by | Mar 10, 2010 | Resources, Market News, Ask Pahl's Market

Is now the right time to think about planting my daffodils?

Judith

Judith,

It is the perfect time to plant your daffodils right now.  Do not plant later than October 15 in our climate because the ground gets too cold and we begin to freeze by late November.  Plant your bulbs 4 to 6 inches deep depending on the size of the bulb. The depth should be about 3 times the diameter of the bulb.  This may sound silly but pointed end up:)  Also newly planted bulbs like about 1/2 inch of water per week.  Our fall season is usually very dry so be sure to water.  Then enjoy your beautiful surprise next Spring.  Thank you for your question.

Sincerely,
