My neighbors lawn service has sprayed something that’s landed on my Miss Kim lilacs. They killed one last year. Yesterday I noticed that 1 of the 2 remaining looks shriveled, as if it was sprayed with acid. (It must have been windy when the lawn care sprayed.) Is there anything I can do to save this shrub? It has probably been rained on already. I heard these were hearty, but they apparently are bothered by the weed killer in lawn spray. Thank you.

Overspray can be a problem; lawn herbicides and pesticides can damage even the hardiest plants. Your young lilacs are no exception. Usually the spray damages just the outermost leaves. Unless the spray has affected the entire plant the lilac should recover. Your lilac
will probably need a little extra care- regular watering, fertilizer, and some pruning (after blooming)- to recover. Watch for new leaves forming just below the damaged leaves.
