Briefly describe your job duties at Pahl’s: I work in the Nursery during the summer months helping to receive in plants and take care of the Nursery and helping customers with their plant selections. I help in the market when needed, more so when the Nursery slows down as I help with the pumpkins in the fall and the Christmas trees in the winter. I worked with the Greenhouse crew this spring until the Nursery started up and I went out with the Landscape crew a couple of times this summer. I enjoy the variety of jobs that are available here.

Photo Contest Winners
A great big THANK YOU to all that participated in Pahl’s Market “Something for Every Season” photo contest this year. Once again we had so many fantastic submissions it was difficult to pick the winners. We would like to also thank all our Facebook fans that helped choose the grand prize winner!
November Plant of the Month
Fothergilla are deciduous shrubs of North America, belonging to the Witch-hazel family. Native to the southeastern United States, Fothergilla are seldom seen in our northern landscapes, although they are frost-hardy and well-suited to the shrub border.
November is not Just for Turkeys
Though November fills our thoughts with wonderful turkey dinners and great family times, at Pahl’s we are already in the busy Christmas mode. Our decorative evergreens are arriving, the market looks like a Christmas wonderland, we begin the sprucetip workshops, and the production of our custom line of Christmas pots is in full swing. The change in our world is a big one. We also look forward to closing the big front doors of the market and turning on the heat. It gets cozy and festive for all who enter our store and greenhouse.
Workshop Wonderland
Once again the seasons change at Pahl’s Market. With this change we usher in the Christmas holiday season. In the span of one week we will switch the market from the warm colors of fall to the elegant spectrum of Christmas.

October News from the Field
Fall is in the air. When you start picking squash and pumpkins you know the weather will be turning cooler soon. In the field these days we are busy harvesting many fall items along with peppers and all of our specialty peppers. Fall is my most favorite time of year. The cooler temperatures make it easier for the crew harvesting, but the shorter days make it a time cruncher on getting everything out of the field.
