Oatmeal Pumpkin Muffins

1 1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup old fashioned rolled oats
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp mace
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/8 tsp cloves
2 slightly beaten egg whites
1 cup canned pumpkin
1/2 cup light molasses
1/2 cup orange juice
1/4 cup oil
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup old fashioned rolled oats for tops

1.  Stir together flour, 1/2 c. oats, baking powder, spices, salt, and baking soda
2.  In another bowl, combine egg whites, pumpkin, molasses, juice and oil
3.  Add liquid mixture to dry mixture; stir just until moistened
4.  Fold in walnuts
5.  Fill muffin tins until almost full, sprinkle each with some of the remaining 1/4 cup oats
6.  Bake at 375 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes
