Harvest Highlights: Week 10 CSA News & Updates

by | Aug 29, 2023 | Dee's Corner

Greetings, CSA community! As we move forward into Week 10 of our CSA program, let’s kick off this week’s adventure by reveling in the bounty of nature’s wholesome goodness.

Remember those first crisp radishes from Week 1? Well, they’re back! The zesty, peppery bite of these little red gems is making a triumphant return to our shares this week. Their vibrant color and refreshing taste are a reminder that nature has its own rhythm, and it’s a joy to experience it.

Carrots!  Crunchy, sweet, and packed with vitamins, these orange wonders are making their debut in our share boxes. Whether you prefer them as a crunchy snack, a vibrant addition to salads, or a hearty ingredient in stews and roasts, these versatile root veggies are sure to become a household favorite.

As the flurry of the state fair and back-to-school preparations fills our lives, we’re offering a simple yet delightful recipe idea that celebrates the diverse produce in this week’s share, Veggie Kabobs! Gather your kohlrabi, radishes, carrots, green bell peppers, and sweet corn for a colorful culinary adventure. Chop them into chunks, thread them onto skewers, and give them a quick brush of olive oil, sprinkle of herbs, and a dash of seasoning. Grill them to perfection and enjoy a nutritious, delicious, and oh-so-easy meal that’s perfect for those busy days.

May this week be filled with culinary exploration and memories woven from simple ingredients and cherished moments. Until our next culinary rendezvous, CSA community, stay curious and continue to craft deliciousness!
