The flavors of fall are coming out of the fields now! Last week we introduced spaghetti squash, how did you like it? This week, we’re adding acorn squash to your share. Acorn squash is versatile, delicious, and perfect for roasting, stuffing, or even using in soups. With its slightly sweet flavor and tender texture, it’s a fall favorite that can add warmth to any dish.
Along with your fall squash, this week’s share includes fresh green beans and rich Yukon Gold potatoes. These two make the perfect side dish duo for a cozy autumn meal. Roast those potatoes until crispy or mash them up for something creamy – either way, they pair wonderfully with just about anything.
Whether you’re tossing them in a salad or pairing them with cheese, Sweet Tango apples are another refreshing reminder of why we love fall. Crisp and juicy, they strike the perfect balance between sweet and tart, making them ideal for snacking or baking.
As a final taste of summer, sweet corn is making another appearance in the shares this week. This is likely the last corn of the season, so savor those fresh, sweet kernels while you can! Hopefully, many of you have tucked some away in the freezer to enjoy throughout the winter months.
Lastly, you’ll find either poblano peppers or hot Hungarian peppers in your share this week, bringing a little extra spice to your cooking. Whether you’re roasting them, adding to sauces, or using them in salsas, these peppers pack great flavor.
Enjoy these fall favorites and let us know what creations you’re making with your share this week!
