A surprise reappearance of green beans this week happened due to a stroke of luck earlier in the year. After we harvested our first crop of green beans early in July, we did what we normally do and disced the field under a couple of weeks later.

After the harvest some beans are left behind both intentionally and accidentally on the plants and occasionally, when the field is tilled under, green bean plants will start to reappear in the following days. To us it was more of a laugh until, about a month later, Brian and I were checking on some fields and decided to take a look at the green bean plants that had been growing over the past month. To our surprise there was a beautiful set of green beans that were ready to harvest!

A stroke of luck and a bit of curiosity has given us delicious homegrown green beans in the middle of October! It’s all sun, a beautiful day in the pumpkin field, as I write this article.  Have a wonderful share week!
