News From the Farmer

Week 1, and we’re off and running! Last night’s rain made it challenging to pick the kale today, and chances are you’ll see some farm soil on it, but it does look beautiful. Radishes and bok choi are looking good, close to being ready. We’ll most likely be harvesting those within the next week. And upon inspection, I noticed the cauliflower and broccoli are just starting to form small heads. Right on schedule!

Members will receive potted basil and buttercrunch lettuce in their share boxes this week.  Please follow the links in the ‘What to Expect in Your Share Box’ section for tips on how to either harvest for one time use or plant and enjoy all summer!

Snap peas are about 5 to 6 days out.  They seem to have set on very well and we dare expect a very good crop for our CSA Pea Pick event.  Over the next few days they will multiple in size and their sugar content will rise with each passing day.  Get ready for the first of our homegrown, delicious snap peas!  Harvest event details coming soon…

Looking forward to sharing a great 2018 CSA season with you all!
