That amazing onion smell of leeks is in the air this week! Gotta love the beauty and versatility of this awesome crop. I must say, I am very satisfied with our progress the latter half of last week and the first two days of this new week. Crops currently being harvested include corn, peppers, beans, cabbage and cucumbers, and they are coming out of the field like clock work. A very well-oiled machine! We like to set a schedule of days that we pick certain crops, especially cucumbers, which should be picked every 3 days. As long as we stick to this schedule, God willing and weather provided, our operation continues to run smoothly and effectively. No challenges so far this week, so let’s hope it stays that way. From my vantage point in the leek field, I can see the multitudes of flowers on our pumpkin field. I’m sure the pollinators are busy doing their jobs right now, as they favor the morning hours.

So, here’s hoping for timely rains, strides and gains, no aches and pains, and we’ve got it made!

Cheers!
