News from the Farmer

We sure had some rain and wind yesterday and into this morning! Despite being thoroughly pummeled and soaked, we continued to push on and harvest what we needed to fill our orders. We finished up with sweet corn yesterday, and that opens up a gap in our daily routines that allows us to focus on other projects, namely squash and pumpkins.

And speaking of those, it’s looking to be a lovely crop of both squash and pumpkins this year, and that has us all in good spirits! There’s something about a field of bright orange pumpkins spread out as far as you can see, to put a smile on your face.

In spite of the rain and mud, which makes it a bit more interesting to harvest, we must keep our heads in the game as we near the conclusion of the 2018 season.  We still have some great CSA weeks ahead of us and hopefully some beautiful sunny and warm fall weather as well.

Have a wonderful week!
