It’s hard to believe there are only 3 weeks left of our 2018 CSA season! The weather we’ve been seeing lately has been less than ideal and posed some problems on getting the remainder of our crops out of the field. Stuck wagons and muddy pumpkins are not conducive to even tempers! Lucky for us, the sun is back and while there is still a chill in the air, we are glad just the same!
This week’s box will have quite the variety of vegetables in it, with endless ways to enjoy them. The array of colors alone will stimulate the imagination and appetite. Hopefully as we dry out, we can begin the journey of getting all our fall tillage done before the ground hardens. I look forward to the remaining weeks ahead and to making them the best they can be.
I do want to remind everyone who picks up their share at Pahl’s Market in Apple Valley that we will be closing at 6pm on Wednesday, October 31 (Halloween). It will be our last week of the season, so it should be easy to remember. We will have share boxes available for pick up on Thursday, November 1st for those that cannot make it by 6pm on the 31st.
Cheers!
Farmer Cole
