News from the Farmers

A complicated year with the weather being hot, humid and wet, has had an adverse affect on our fall crops. Though the harvest has been great so far, we are running into various complications due to wet weather (heavy morning dew, and untimely rains). Our vine crops including squash and pumpkins have taken these weather conditions hard. A loss in yield in our fall crops is being felt on a regular basis and has us scratching our heads. Through all of this, we remain positive and are hoping that things will shape up for the better. No one said farming was easy, if it was, everyone would be doing it! We have been down before but we don’t go down easy. We are pulling our thoughts together and still plan on having a wonderful and productive fall season! Keep our fields in your thoughts as we venture into the last chapter of our farm season. Have a wonderful share week!
