1 apple, peeled, cored, and chopped
1 fresh beet, cooked until tender (Note: Cook several beets ahead of time and store in refrigerator, to have on hand for making smoothies.)
1 large handful fresh kale, stems removed
1/2 naval orange, peeled
1/2 cup frozen berries (example: strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, in any combination)
fresh ginger, to taste (3-4 slices of fresh ginger)
1/2 cup crushed ice
juice of 1 lemon
1 cup ice water
1. Place all ingredients in juicer or blender.
2. Start blending on low, gradually increase speed.
3. Blend until smooth.
