News from the Farmer

The first squash of the year has been picked as of today, yet another milestone of the year. The time is flying past us at record speed. Field by field, crop by crop we continue to push forward. As we transition into fall, many more varieties of produce will begin to show up in your share boxes. We still have plenty of corn, beans, cucumbers, peppers and cabbage left to cut, but now we must fit the fall harvest into our schedule as well. The rain the past week has really put a damper on production and productivity in the field but somehow by the grace of God we are able to get crops out of the field and orders out on time. I can’t believe it is already September, and we must now turn to another chapter in our long novel of vegetable growing. A new and exciting time of the season is upon us and I am glad you are along for the ride!
