Fresh Mild Salsa

This recipe comes to us courtesy of allrecipes.com.  The seasonings of salt, pepper and cumin can be easily adjusted, according to your family’s personal taste.  To make hot salsa, add one additional serrano pepper.  For “fiery” hot salsa, add 2 serrano peppers.

Prep time:  30 minutes

Ingredients:
4 ripe tomatoes, chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 serrano pepper, seeded and chopped
1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped
3/4 white onion, finely chopped
1/4 green bell pepper, finely chopped
2 Tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
1 Tablespoon ground cumin, or to taste
2 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice
2 teaspoons salt, or to taste
1 teaspoon ground black pepper, or to taste

Directions:

Stir tomatoes, garlic, serrano pepper, jalapeno pepper, white onion, green bell pepper, cilantro, cumin, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper together in a bowl.

Serve with chips and enjoy!
