Harvest Highlights: Week 16 CSA News & Updates

As we wrap up our 2024 CSA season, we want to take a moment to reflect on the journey we’ve shared. This year has been full of growth, challenges, and some delicious produce. From the early days of fresh greens to the hearty squashes and peppers of fall, we’ve seen a great variety of crops make their way into your share boxes.

Throughout the season, we’ve packed over 23,000 share boxes, attempting to bring you a diverse selection of homegrown favorites and a few surprises.  While it hasn’t always been easy, especially with the weather-related delays and the occasional quality concerns, we appreciate your patience and feedback. Your support helps, and it’s been our pleasure to bring the harvest to your table week after week.

Though the CSA season is wrapping up, the work in the fields is far from over. The farmers will be busy harvesting the last of the late season crops, and prepping the fields for winter.  Clearing out the fields and planting cover crops protects the soil and improves next year’s harvest. Fall is a critical time for laying the groundwork for a successful growing season in 2025.

At the market, we’re transitioning into the fall and winter seasons. We’re stocked with beautiful fall décor, including mums, gourds, and pumpkins, as well as seasonal items to get you ready for the holidays. As the season changes, we hope you’ll visit us in-store this fall and winter, even though the CSA program has come to an end. We look forward to seeing you around the market!

This is our last official CSA newsletter for the season, but you’ll hear from us again next week with a final wrap-up. Returning members will have the chance to sign up a month before the public, so keep an eye on your inbox for early registration information.

Thank you once again for being part of our farm and community. We wish you all a wonderful fall and winter, and we hope to see you back for the next growing season.
